Gift Guide: Fashionable Friends

Ahh! Christmas shopping! Now is the time you get to shower the fashionable friends in your life with fabulous gifts. If you're hard pressed for ideas we have a few for you.

If you want to give a little luxurious this Christmas, you should consider giving your friend that perfect bag she's been looking for. For the friend who is a little picky and therefore tricky to buy for, birthstone jewelry is usually a safe bet since it can be found to fit every sense of style. And if your friend is still storing her jewelry in her childhood ballerina musical jewelry box, upgrade her to a more sophisticated, timeless version--one that will still look classic in 20 years. Another way to make her home a little more fashionable, is an exquisite coffee table fashion book. It will give her and her guest tons of pretties to ogle.

If something you can wrap and slide under the tree isn't your style, make a day of your gift. Take her to the salon and pay for that cut or color she keeps talking about or hit the perfume counters to find her find her signature scent with a designer or even custom perfume. She'll get a gift and a girls' day out all in one!

If you're on a tight budget this year, no worries. A gift doesn't have to be big or expensive to be great. Have a little fun with fashion and give the gift of fake lashes, a selection of nail colors, a fashion magazine subscription, luxury makeup in her favorite colors, or a great fashion book.

Another way to stay on budget is to give a practical gift. You know she'll use it, and you won't have to break the bank. If you can't by her a great new handbag, find her a nice wallet. Give her a bath set so she can escape for a little spa day in the comfort of her own home. (If she travels a lot, get her a travel sized set of her favorite products in a cute, leak-proof carrier). Make her daily routine more luxurious by upgrading her face wash or getting her better makeup brushes.

What is the best fashion gift you've ever given or received?

One year my mother stuffed my stocking with nail pens. All my awkward, sticky bottles were replaced in one big swoop!

Not to nit-pick a good idea, but a selection of OPI nail polish would not be a budget friendly gift at all when they are $10 a bottle!

However, with the .99 cent Wet n Wild, you could offer quite the selection.

LyddieGal, the OPI nail polish gift sets I've seen are actually really great prices. Also, check Marshalls and T.J. Maxx for even better deals on the gift sets. I've seen them as low as $15 for 4 full-sized polishes.

It's not wet n' wild low, but it's still pretty good.
