Who: Suno What it made us think of: Tribal gone mod for the confident and playful woman What we liked: Bright prints, colorful shoes, playful shapes and proportions What we didn't: It ended too soon. Who: Bensoni What it made us think of: The good parts reminded me of unique vintage and thrift store finds mixed with quality, investment pieces. What was good was really good, what was boring was really boring. What we liked: Prints, color, shapes, tailoring, coats, ruffles What we didn't: The ruched, one-shoulder dresses were repetitive and should have been replaced by items that played off the prints and structured pieces. Who: Temperley London What it made us think of: A thoroughly British pop/rock starlet What we liked: Studs, stripes, leather, prints, suits, shoulders, What we didn't: Who: Betsey Johnson What it made us think of: Neon brothels in the Wild Wild West What we liked: The McQueen Tribute, the hot pink, the black and white pieces, longer hemline...

Who: Reem Acra What it made us think of: The money situation has to be hard on evening wear designers What we liked: Acra compensated for fewer red carpet gowns with more formal jacket and skirt sets. What we didn't: It rarely felt elegant. It would have been better to have a smaller show with stronger pieces. Who: Toni Maticevski What it made us think of: A little Miu Miu, a little Elie Saab What we liked: pleats, Princess Leia slave bras, chiffon What we didn't: Balance the funk a little more so these dresses will appear on the red carpet. Who: Bibhu Mohapatra What it made us think of: 1920s daywear with a modern twist. What we liked: The choice of accessories was spot on. Harnesses, great coats, sharp tailoring. This designer gets better and better each season. Who: Naeem Khan What it made us think of: Mongolian red carpet event. What we liked: An extensively embellished leather jacket, gold trim, mega boots with cocktail dresses What we didn't: Adornment ...

Pale Tops and Cardigans

I was strolling through TJ Maxx yesterday and could not stop myself from touching every pale pink or ivory item I saw. The more ornate it was, the more I thought about buying it. (Alas I was shopping for someone else and only bought a lovely garbage can.) I've actually been working this color crush for a few months now and wonder how long the cooler shades will own me. Top: cream top with striped sleeves, Free People $49.95 mauve silk petal top, Ann Taylor $88 yellow lace top, Mod Cloth $64.99 circle collar sleeveless top, Anthropologie $68 Bottom: flutter sleeve one-shouldered top, Bebe $59 grey flower tank, Anthropologie $68 periwinkle silk petal blouse, Ann Taylor $88 ruffles and lace blouse, Anthropologie $118 Top: pale blue ribbon cardigan, J. Who: Rebecca Taylor What it made us think of: Less isn't always more, sometime it's just less What we liked: Soft colors, thigh high boots, billowy pants What we didn't: The too basic clothes, the repetition, the boredom Who: Anna Sui What it made us think of: Arts and crafts gone surprisingly modern What we liked: Mixed prints, ladylike details, patterned tights, orange/red/pink combination, the shoes What we didn't: Nothing Who: Peter Som What it made us think of: Tripping through the plethora of prints that might have been seen at Woodstock. What we liked: Mixed printings, bright color prints, super pretty prints, the return of long long skirts, color, seventies silhouettes What we didn't: Some pieces just feel out of place, overdone or jumbled. Who: Charlotte Ronson What it made us think of: Taking up the gypsy lifestyle (even in the winter) and making a pilgrimage in search of inner peace and effortless style. What we liked: The military styling...

What Would You Pay? Button Earrings

Image
Be sure to check out last week's cable stitch tights . Most of you said you'd pay $10 to $30 for them. Check out how much they really cost. This week, we want to know what you would pay for these button earrings. They remind me of Coraline, but with these you don't have to have your eyes taken out and replaced with button eyes. Plus, who doesn't love a few more buttons in their look. These are stainless steal with a rose gold-look finish (no real gold). The button holes are made of Swarovski crystals. Next Tuesday I will announce on Twitter and Facebook (as well as in this post) where these are from and how much they cost. If you know where this is from, DON'T tell everyone and spoil the fun. The actual cost will skew everyone's answers. Until then, what would you pay for these cute button earrings? Update: These earrings are by Kamsmak and available at YesStyle for $25 .
