Milan Fashion Week SS13: Prada, Etro

Who: Prada
What it made us think of: A funeral for a Japanese child.
What we liked: The clothes need to be removed from this oppressive setting. The combination of the styling and lighting just makes everything look too flat and sad. Maybe in a couple months I'll see some of this on Emma Stone and wonder what fabulousness she's wearing, but the chances are slim.

What we didn't: Hideous shoes! Hideous hair! Sad cuts! Everything!


Who: Etro
What it made us think of: An 1856 publication of Botanicals of Asia
What we liked: large floral prints, kimono-inspired jackets
What we didn't: The wide leg print pants looked like pajama pants. Football shoulders and leg ruffles are a no.

October is the perfect month for anyone who loves a dramatic look. Because of Halloween, you can get away with more in the makeup department than you can the rest of the year. You want to try false eyelashes? Go for it. You want to color your eyebrows? Do it. Color outside the lines with eyeshadow? Why not? Live it up so much in October that people will think black lipstick in November is practically normal.
