$150 Challenge: Summer Party Survival

The summer party season is about to kick off. Already, the invites for grad parties, barbeques, birthdays, holiday celebrations and other summer shindigs are stacking up. For many of us this means stopping by a niece's first communion in the morning, rushing to a cousin's grad party by lunch, and stopping at another grad party before dashing across town to a late night bonfire.

A day of partying is great, but running home to change or freezing in the evening isn't so great. These accessories (which stash easily in the large tote) will carry you from morning to noon (don't forget to pack sunscreen and extra water) then on to the evening. Everything here adds up to just over $150 at $171.71.

October is the perfect month for anyone who loves a dramatic look. Because of Halloween, you can get away with more in the makeup department than you can the rest of the year. You want to try false eyelashes? Go for it. You want to color your eyebrows? Do it. Color outside the lines with eyeshadow? Why not?
