Review: Urban Decay Eyeshadow Transforming Potion

As a lover of bold eyeliner, I was excited to try Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Transforming Potion. Normally, I apply my eyeshadow primer, wet a liner brush and use it to tamp on a dark line of eye shadow. I shelled out $18 for the Potion (a term that make me feel like it was purchased from a snake oil salesman) thinking the shadow would be darker, easier to apply and would stay put longer. No go.

While several reviewers online had wild success with it, I'm in the camp of those who didn't. I tried it several days with a couple different application methods. Each time the line was pale and watery. The Potion made a mess of my eyeshadow, and I had to clean the applicator brush each time so the black eyeshadow on it wouldn't turn the Potion grey. The most damning day was when I used my old water method on one eye and the Potion on the other. Guess which looked better and lasted longer?

On the bright side, Sephora's return policy is nice and smooth.
