Editor's Pick of the Week: Surprising Dress

Every year my mom buys me an Easter dress. I try to find a dress that will look cute throughout spring and summer and work well for seasons to come. This year, I really wanted a classic dress with a fitted bodice and full, knee length skirt with a simple floral print (nothing too busy). I had spotted one at H&M, but the fit was off and the price was a bit high.

When I couldn't find anything, my mom suggested I go with her ti JCPenny. I rarely find anything there so I almost declined. I figured there was no harm in looking. I tried on a bunch of dresses with no luck. I passed by this blue floral dress at first because it looked dowdy on the hanger. (I don't even love it that much in the picture here). However, it shocked me when I reluctantly tried it on. It fit like a dream. It had the classic style I was looking for with the bonus of pockets! I expect to wear this to several picnics and parties for years to come. It even looks quite sharp with my white blazer as a potential office outfit.

This American Living dress currently costs $74.99. I got it for a lot less for watch for sales and coupons. There is also a multi color allover floral version and a similar pink version with pleats.
