FMF Reader Poll: NYC Runway Makeup

While I love extreme runway makeup because it makes for a good show, I also love a lot of the really wearable looks I see at New York Fashion Week. These looks are good inspiration for playing with makeup when you have someplace a little more practical to go.

I love Marc Jacob's look for Fall. It's an almost summery look with the basic eye makeup and soft peach lips. It's a fresh, wearable style that will look soft during the day and sweet paired with more daring looks for evening.
Elie Tahari showcases the proper way to do a nude lip--make the lips shimmer and pair them with a bold, shimmery eye. I love dramatic eye makeup for day, and keeping the rest of the face bare is a good way to keep from looking like your still wearing last nights makeup. Plus, you can easily add a deep red lip for a day-to-night look. (I also love that bold eyebrows are sticking around!)
Peter Som focused entirely on a dark lip. This plum lip possesses a lot of drama without being as harsh or difficult as the black lip we saw a YSL a while back. Paired with a pale face and just mascara for the eyes, it gives off a rather sophisticated look. It might not work for the office, but I'd glam up the eyes for evening or keep it simple like this for a weekend brunch.
Vena Cava also went for a bolder lip with a tomato red. This is another summery lip color for fall shows. The eye makeup is sunny and light too with bronze shimmer on the cheeks. This is the kind of look that says, "Yes, I know it's winter. No, I don't have to give in to the drab, grey sky."
Which of these looks is your favorite? Did notice any other runway looks that you loved?

I love the Marc Jacobs and Vena Cava look. I think the Peter Som look is a little too goth-like for me. But I can see it looking great on others.

agreed. Marc Jacob look is actually the one I've been wearing every day.

I like the Vena Cava look, the red-orange lipstick was also the focal point at pradas this spring. Altho I can't wear it cuz I've got the asian yellow skin tone and orange based lipstick make my face look really yellow...

In middle school, I wore makeup like what they showed at Peter Som. I've been thinking about going back to crazy dark lips. Love!
