FMF Reader Poll: Bargain Shopping

If clearance racks, thrift stores, resale shops, affordable vintage shops, garage sales, hand-me-downs and other amazing deals didn't exist, I would probably only have about ten items in my wardrobe. I love a bargain. And, due to my budget, I usually need a bargain to find a deal. I've purchased a ton of items from thrift stores (once bought six skirts for $3!), resale shops like Plato's Closet (great place for dress pants), vintage shops (slips!), and garage sales (just got a purple jacket for $2!), and most of my favorite pieces come from the clearance racks at department stores (BCBG LBD for $30), Target and H&M.

Where do you find your best bargains? Tell us about your best deal in the comments.

I got an amazing vintage camel wool cape with big buttons from Goodwill for $6 a few years ago. Expensive for Goodwill, but such an amazing bargain!

Some graphics are ours, most we find somewhere (sadly, we don't usually remember where we find them).

I'm the type of person who goes into a store and heads straight to the back. When I do look at new merchandise, I make comments like "ohh, I will totally buy this when it's half off!"

I also stalk shoe prices on amazon with ookong, getting shoes sometimes at 90% off!

I also use every free panty coupon Victoria's Secret wants to give me. Otherwise I would NEVER spend more than $3 on a pair.

I'll admit, it might be nice if I wasn't so limited by price and could just get what I wanted and not think twice about coupons or clearance - but at the end of the day, I like knowing I got a deal, like I've somehow beat the system.

I've gotten several new with tags tops at Goodwill for $3 each. I'm delighted every time I get complimented on them and reveal the price!
