When I learned several months ago that the theme of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute annual gala would be a salute to superheroes, I experienced euphoria that only the fusion of my two loves could provide. As the party drew closer, blogs and magazines became a twitter with talk of boots, capes, masks, armor, emblems and skin tight costumes. The big gala is going on as I type this (I wonder what happened to my invitation?), so expect a full report of the celebrities and couture on Tuesday!
