Fashion Week Fall Winter 2014: Want to Wear It Part 1

Pictures of designer clothes I would love to own are just piling up. It's rather fun to see my desires all laid out. While I can't pull off all of these shapes in reality, the collection is still stirring up ideas for what to shop for next fall: prints, particularly bird prints; embellishments with beads and lace; minimalism that focuses on shape and color; fuzzy, cozy sweaters. One day I will find my prize, a sheath dress that works on super hips.

Alice + Olivia was a Russian folklore dream. I will be needing both of these.

Love the full, shiny skirt with the off-shoulder sweater. It's a sexy take on 1950s sweater girls. That suit, on the other hand, is very rock star. (Alice + Olivia)

Blumarine had a slight Asian motif. I am weak for Asian motifs.

Dolce & Gabbana, I will be needing that rhinestone hood, gauntlets gloves, and warrior boots. The embroidered wool dress is also lovely if not Joan of Arc inspired.

Giles put a bird on it. This is actually my favorite way to wear a crop top.

Dark and textural at Lanvin.

Stella Jean, a new designer I will keep an eye on, is a print-lover's dream.

More birds at  Alberta Ferretti. Love! Love! Love!

Color blocked and slightly military at Versace.

A cape/coat dress at DKNY. Love the pop of neon and metallic collar detail.

A subtly color blocked  sheath with oragami folds and a set heavy with beads at Peter Pilotto.

Sweater girls again at  Reem Acra.

Color block casual in warm wools at Roksanda Ilincic.

This perfectly pleated Salvatore Ferragamo is like a beetle's wing. Beautiful!

Tadashi Shoji got my memo about capes.

More color blocking at Altuzarra.

A bird reprieve with butterflies at Creatures of the Wind. I want to be a flying thing.
