Milan Fashion Week FW12: Versace, Dolce & Gabbana

Who: Versace
What it made us think of: Lisbeth Salander takes the veil.
What we liked: studs, leather, gothic motifs, velvet, baby bangs, coats, yellow, orange, padded hips, chain mail
What we didn't: big purses without handles, mesh boots, excessive religious symbolism, jewelry prints, name print

Who: Dolce & Gabbana
What it made us think of: Upon finding themselves war widows, a bevy of young women form their own convent in the Alpine region of Italy where they are now known for their tapestry skills.
What we liked: velvet, capes, embroidered shoes, gold (I feel like Dolce & Gabbana knows how to work gold better than most houses), tiaras, soft makeup, makes grandma's pillows look fashionable
What we didn't: insanely tiny bags, creepy angel earrings, diaper shorts, excessive sheer

They had at least six more designs. It took me well over an hour to look at all the pictures from that show. 73 looks!
