New York Fashion Week FW12: Marchesa, Badgley Mischka, Jenny Packham
Who: Marchesa
What it made us think of: Angels battling demons to bring souls to heaven.
What we liked: Feathers, lace, embroidery, the fantasy, shoes, the fact that they even through in a couple day dresses.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzJcshGZIanb9dKBrzsaCiHSkUr67HaLopsBg_Ke5f2judNCQHgphlyhbjhLH8BcCWkMfQW9uYGjX4sX9QIIOoDsSj3rcCtukHQBDLvqNenZFzV1XaXuejiLQchFkuaZDVvHxmJq02M_o/s400/Marchesa+New+York+Fashion+Week+Fall+Winter+2012+2.jpg)

Who: Badgley Mischka
What it made us think of: Silver Screen stars living in the capitol in a dystopian future lounging in their fabulous boudoirs.
What we liked: The main collection was presented with the diffusion line, Mark & James. I loved the mix of day clothes with fabulous gowns, all of which came from the same inspiration. (This is how you do a diffusion line). The mix of pajama styles with glamour was stunning as were the art deco details and metallics.
What we didn't: The hair could have been better, but it sort of worked with the mood.![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj87-OXpL3XJlfHR-l0yzV7a4kBRkJ4R0dCYT9eFfSVje3Wc6P0Obz6CJ1bUpW3IU0H7c126O1R_K57XaVLc7KKIkYek1UXP0OH4fi3oTJWibDsWrOiXWdIwHnf7DbZZ_GcBQxiAiAN2TM/s400/Badley+Mischka+New+York+Fashion+Week+Fall+Winter+2012+1.jpg)

Who: Jenny Packham
What it made us think of: Lauren Bacall ("You know how to whistle, don't ya, Steve? Just put your lips together and blow.")
What we liked: 1940s style, embellishments, daring V-necks, shoulders, pencil skirts
What we didn't: The mini dresses didn't fit the vibe; a couple of red satiny numbers felt like obligatory red carpet creations instead of part of the collection![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjO6gyQHaMIaiIcElGr3yed-3tlHXZBCxGkgE2DG5BWzj5io5hk5Bgb-6N05AjzVHEXu5-y6mhFi5TNawHF8XpWykkUW6VvHQ62fDj4N939zgKSKnWk-PRe0CVXVw96p7OphYnOCFR4Q0/s400/Jenny+Packham+New+York+Fashion+Week+Fall+Winter+2012+1.jpg)
