Paris Fashion Week SS12: Jean Paul Gaultier, A. F. Vandevorst, Viktor & Rolf

Who: Jean Paul Gaultier
What it made us think of: Bad girl pinups rework their boyfriends' clothing.
What we liked: tattoo prints, blue stripes, victory rolls, flowing pants, leathers, bloomers, corset belts, smiling models, non-models
What we didn't: Neon, flatsWho: A. F. Vandevorst
What it made us think of: European-occupied northern Africa cross-bred with modern minimalism.
What we liked: hats, shoes, military braiding, casual slouchy shapes
What we didn't: I love the color palette, but I can't imagine jumping for navy, black and burgundy after a bleak winter.
Who: Viktor & Rolf
What it made us think of: The sometimes awkward proportion of doll clothes.
What we liked: exaggerated whipstitch, shoes, coats, scroll detail, neon feather lashes
What we didn't: wide belts, the 80s bridesmaid color palette, not enough crazy
