New York Fashion Week SS12: Thakoon, Jeremy Scott, 3.1 Philip Lim

Who: Thakoon
What it made us think of: An edgy indie director takes over grandma's line-dancing class.
What we liked: technicolored hair, full skirts, neon, paisley, the florals (not something I usually like), embroidered details, print sundresses, shoes
What we didn't: bi-colored hats, the pants, lamé, the long skirts lost the plotWho: Jeremy Scott
What it made us think of: After recession hits Whoville, the Whos move to a trailer park in Arizona. Soon all their children have fallen prey to the trappings of cowboy trailer life.
What we liked: This is a hard thing to judge because this designer is intentionally humorous. Although I can see someone like Katy Perry in some of the mini dresses.
What we didn't: Again, hard to say, but the menswear was retina-searing.
Who: 3.1 Philip Lim
What it made us think of: Philip Lim, why do you suddenly suck?
What we liked: a vest with tails, ribbon stripe shirts,
What we didn't: slits on the pants, retiree pastels, minimalism, the shoes, acid washed denim vest
