New York FW 2011: Alice + Olivia, Malandrino, Chris Benz

Who: Alice + Olivia
What it made us think of: It starts with Studio 54 venturing into the daylight but it becomes very Taylor Swift as a flapper.
What we liked: sequins, texture, 70s pants, graphic prints, girly heels, snake heels, thigh high suede boots, black chokers
What we didn't: Please let jumpsuits die.Who: Malandrino
What it made us think of: Almost Famous + Gossip Girl
What we liked: hats, color, texture, lizard booties
What we didn't: The gloves not only felt out of place, but they pushed the looks into over accessorized. We hate fake glasses.Who: Chris Benz
What it made us think of: Benz's muse is clearly an indie rock chanteuse with a penchant for Oscar Wilde and a longing to wear Westwood.
What we liked: There's a lot of office inspiration in this trendy designer. Cool jackets, buttons!, brocade pants, turquoise eyeshadow, pops of yellow, tiny fringe bags,
What we didn't: The layering didn't always work, but I can't fault the guy for trying. A couple coats were pimptastic.
