Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010

Who: Balmain
What it made us think of: Balmain's previous season crossed with the non-recessive 1980s.
What we liked: brocade, shimmering pinstripes, Frankenstein stitches (sans fashion dictionary, that's my best term)
What we didn't: Sequins in a brocade pattern? Animal print has never been glam's best look. Balmain's revamp is starting to feel repetitive.
Who: Pedro Lourenço
What it made us think of: Nothing pops to mind per se, but I adore this new designer and his leather work. I just read that this designer is 19.
What we liked: color block, leather, sheer rain coats, lattice leather work
What we didn't: open-toed boots, no detail shotsWho: Karl Lagerfeld
What it made us think of: Sporty Europeans
What we liked: shiny, liquid leggings, the exact same bouffants as Prada, jackets, plum, brown,
What we didn't: I didn't dislike anything so much as the show gave me a feeling of meh.
