New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2010

Who: Badgley Mischka
What it made us think of: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with the bits of sparkly throughout the collection. Plus, stars will be shining in these looks on the Red Carpet.
What we liked: Shiny shiny, pretty tailoring, the sky-inspired colors, the tweed
What we didn't: The crystal-encrusted garments were lovely, but look like they weigh 80 pounds. The drop waist looks could become frumpy quickly.
Who:
J. Mendel
What it made us think of: If a Midsummer Night's Dream had been a Midwinter Night's Dream full of whimsy, talking animals, fairies and a few sick, bright red, bad guys
What we liked: Airy dresses, the slouchy boots, the playfulness with texture and the youthful use of fur.
What we didn't: We liked it all.
Who: Marchesa
What it made us think of: What all the more daring starlets will wear on the Red Carpet.
What we liked: Tattoo tights, ruffles, tulle, draping, paisley beading, general prettiness
What we didn't: The models are scary. There a few dresses with sheer bottoms that seem to be a worst dressed list waiting to happen.

I'm mesmerized by the shiny texture of the JMendel dress, even tho it would look terrible on me (tall and slightly chubby =P).

I love the hot pink Marchesa mini-dress. And I love the ruffley white mini-dress with the mandarin collar, it reminds me of chinese lolita style...
