$200 Challenge: Back To School

becca and I had dragged my husband to the mall where we stood around drooling over some argyle sweaters. "Argyle?" he said. "Argyle makes me think of Harvard yuppie nerds. Why do you like argyle?" It's one of those patterns with a firm past. Just like how pinstripes will always carry a whiff of men's suits, argyle is seriously academic. Strong associations allow for more play. You can use the pattern to go traditional with khakis, cardigan and oxfords or create a jarring contrast with Dr. Marten's or vampy makeup. It doesn't hurt that becca and I were both top of our class, miss college something fierce and expect to get advanced degrees.

Here are two inter-changeable (and delightfully stereotypical) back-to-school looks that total $190.91.

I saw an awesome men's hot pink argyle sweater the other day (also came in lime green and purple) that I'm considering. Mmm... argyle.
