Fall 2009 Couture Favorites

Givenchy turned out a few intense styles (in velvet even!) that made me think turn of the century Turkey, then changed to bright draping. I don't understand the show's theme, but I like some of the clothes.
Sexy black lace reminiscent of vintage lingerie popped up at several shows. Wish I had detail shots of the shoes.

Speaking of lingerie, check out the half finished looks at Christian Dior. Dior never ceases to please me in the same way as the richest chocolate. Interesting that both Chanel and Dior included leopard details on their gowns and suits. Does this mean an animal print resurgence?Jean Paul Gaultier, you can dress me for an incoherent show anytime. You certainly have glam-dominatrix-alien-princess-flapper look down.Chanel is famous for suits, but I prefer Armani Prive; they bear the sexy edge of a confident woman. Plus, Armani's show always includes killer gowns for fans of slink.
