Wrapping up New York Fashion Week Part 2

New York Fashion Week has come for a close for Fall 2009.

There was no sign of recession of Anna Sui with the bright prints, frilly clothes and fun tights.

The J. Mendel collection was of a mix of classic, lux basics and lovely gowns accented by ribbons.

Marchesa had bows and ruffles and overall girly fun. The final look had a cool geometric feel to it.

Ralph Lauren brought us out of the dark and into the light with a collection that started with little black dresses, flowed into warm pastels, and brought us to white. Interesting choices for a Fall collection.

Libertine has a unique playfulness with a quirky handmade-meets-found-items look for Fall 2009.

Vera Wang had a more severe look for Fall 2009. The clothes did not have their usual flourishes. They seemed scaled back for the current economy. Of course, they were still beautiful and very Vera Wang.

Phi's collection filled with exposed zippers, bold buckles, lots of leather, and body hugging shapes made Phi women the toughest chick's on the block for Fall 2009.

Kai Kuhni presented a mostly black collection, but the graphic black & white pieces were my favorites.

Rebecca Taylor put out lepord prints, bright florals and cozy knitwear all in easy dresses and jackets for fall.

Julian Louie's armored looking fall clothing appeared to be hammered together rather than sewn. The layers and structure of the clothes nearly made me drool on my keyboard.

If you want a unique poofy skirt, look to Katy Rodriguez. The collection had a vibrant and chic girlishness to it that made me want to prance around the room.

I had the same thought about that Marchesa dress. It's almost an optical illusion.

Loving the Anna Sui, Libertine and Kathy Rodriguez collections here.

Libertine's full skirt is heartbreaking. Waaaant.

Also? Agree with the drool factor of Julian Louie. Stunning.
