New York Fashion Week Favorites So Far
A reasonably priced line like DKNY has a good chance of weathering tough economic times. The FW09 collection feature great basics, nice accessories, and pieces that will make consumers want to invest in a few good items. For example, I will be purchasing this green dress (right) come fall.
Badgley Mischka presented a line of lady like looks with a little glam. There are several red carpet worthy gowns. However, some of the dresses look a little over done. The more casual looks are very cute and wearable, but they were a small part of the collection.
I love Rock N Roll, which is probably why I love the Diesel Black Gold collection. Both the women's and men's clothing have a rock edge mixed with current street style. The women's clothing also has some fun lingerie elements. Also, the shoes are awesome.
Marc by Marc Jacobs has a lower price point than his main line and a much younger following. Usually that means this line has some crazier pieces. This year, Marc by Marc fans will find more versatile and basic items. The overall feel of the line was a kind of Eighties ragamuffin, which is quite toned down from Marc by Marc's usual look.
