New York Fashion Week Begins
It's New York Fashion Week! The Fall 2009 collections are here. The state of the economy seems to be bringing smaller collections and showcases instead of runway shows. So far these have only been for smaller lines. We'll have to wait to see what the bigger names will bring.
Peter Som brings a small collection with big impact to Fall 2009. The bold prints and colors punch up delicate, feminine shapes. It makes me happy to see so much color coming for fall.
Rachel Roy's collection focused on strength and simplicity. The print pillar dress (left) is statuesque.
TSE minimalistic collection had a futuristic feel. The whole collection focused on TSE's specialty--cashmere. The sweaters, leggings, and interesting wraps could add a lot of any wardrobe.
Vera Wang Lavender Label presented wearable wardrobe staples. The girly shapes, bold tights, relaxed boots and great, everyday coats seem like the perfect uniform for a midwestern winter.
