More Ways to Wear Knee Socks

A while back, I responded to reader Rachel's question about the best shoes to pair with knee socks. I came up with pumps, ballet flats, and Mary Janes. All these knee sock thoughts got me pondering other ways to pair knee socks and shoes.

The Lace-up Oxford

I love my lace0up oxfords, they go with everything and are insanely comfortable. They are also rather winter-friendly. Knee socks are winter-friendly too. Pairing these items makes perfect sense. I would love to find some argyle knee socks to pair with my oxfords. I think the combination would be perfect.

The Mary Jane Sneaker

I mentioned Mary Janes before, but I think these sporty little shoes deserve their own category. First, they are one of the cutest sport shoe alternatives I've seen. Second, they look so comfortable. Pairing knee socks with these shoes, a girly skirt and a fun tee would make for and adorable weekend look. Now I really want a pair of these.

The Knee-high Gladiator Sandal

Tall gladiator sandals have always intrigued me. If style correctly, I think they can look really cool. However, they are a bit pricey and not versatile enough to justify the money. Also, I live in Chicago so I only have a limited window of time when sandals can be worn. However, knee-socks made me think there might be a way to extend that window a little. Putting knee socks under the sandals would work for late spring and early fall, it would add some interest and color under the cool cages of the sandals, and open some styling options since gladiators seem a little limited. I like the idea of a bold print sock, like the one pictured here, but a solid color would do the trick too. I'm not sure about this one. What do you think?
