Need Some Investment Pieces in Your Wardrobe?

Net-a-Porter has gobs of its stock marked down 50%. While I still can't afford any Alexander McQueen (I checked), there are plenty of bargains to be had if you've had your eye set on a quality wardrobe staple.

In the coat department, I'm loving this taupe and robin's egg blue "Touran" silk parka by AllDressedUp. The structure gives it a modern edge but the colors are pastry shop fresh. I can imagine it looking equally nice bumming around in your Saturday jeans or dressed up for a night out with your sweetie. It's been reduced from $553 to $276.
If you're looking for a nice little black dress, this sleeveless swiss dot "Trinidad" by Malene Birger works for day or night. The pleating and ribbon detail are delicious. It's been marked down from $375 to $150, or what you'd pay for a dress from Banana Republic. Diane von Frustenberg's drapey "Azelia" dress is perfect for parties, and it's simple enough to wear over and over. The drape and v-neck are supremely flattering for petite ladies, as they give the illusion of height. It's currently $182.
On the casual dress front, prices on easy styles with great prints by Single and T-Bags have been cut in half. Some of these dresses are under $100!
These three dresses would work from the office to a date with a simple change of accessories and lipstick. The purple shade of this Marc by Marc Jacobs "Wild Cherry" dress ($164) would flatter anyone. Also in purple is this easy jersey dress by Vera Wang's Lavender Label ($180). Tibi's navy "Velodromo" shift ($178) has retro stewardess appeal and would look uber chic with a scarf and big Audrey shades.
Then there's this striped jersey skirt by McQ, Alexander McQueen's diffusion line. It's marked down to $119, but that $25 shipping charge is another matter. Should I buy it or should I scour Chicago for McQ this weekend?
