Fashion know-it-alls are constantly declaring pashminas in or out of style. For me, they are a constant in. becca bought me a red and gold one when she went to Italy, and I love to wear it draped over my shoulders and cinched with a brown obi belt so it looks like a bat-wing top. I have another friend who uses hers as a scarf. My mother wears hers loose and secured with a brooch. As you can see, they are endlessly versatile, and a pretty addition to any wardrobe.
If you don't live in a big city where pashminas seem to be sold in every store, check out
Pashmina International. Basic pashminas start at $23.99 and go up to $31.99 for a more elaborate weave.
