What it made us think of: A self-titled "quirky" girl's crafty idea of retro.
What we liked: Black and sherbet, ruffle patch pockets, embellishments, this cute frock
What we didn't: Skirted ankles, insanely short skirts with horizontal ruffs, bandeau jumpers, blah boring blah...
Who: Sonia Rykiel
What it made us think of: A cardigan pinned together as a skirt. Could we be referencing Edie Beale?
What we liked: smiling models, deeply textural sweaters, most coats, knit details, full satin shorts,
What we didn't: The oversized jackets will make any woman look like she's a ten-year-old wearing her linebacker brother's suit coat. Were those sweat shorts over white tights?Who: Giles
What it made us think of: The sky from sunrise to sunset.
What we liked: giant hair, corsets, bright yellow, sculptural head gear, retro
What we didn't: The only pops of Giles not in the bags (winged teddy bears or puffs with eyes) was a print of angry clouds. Otherwise, most of the collection could have come from anyone.

October is the perfect month for anyone who loves a dramatic look. Because of Halloween, you can get away with more in the makeup department than you can the rest of the year. You want to try false eyelashes? Go for it. You want to color your eyebrows? Do it. Color outside the lines with eyeshadow? Why not? Live it up so much in October that people will think black lipstick in November is practically normal.
