Golden Globes Red Carpet Trends

Last night, nominees, presenters and annoying red carpet commentators scurried from umbrella to umbrella to talk about who was wearing what and promoting what before settling down for a long awards show. These are a few of the trends we noticed on the Red Carpet. I'll be back later to talk about specific dresses we love, loathe, and just can't decide on.

Purple. This is my favorite color and my personal neutral. If my closet suffers from anything, it's an overdose of purple. I enjoy this trend! Best Purple Award goes to Jane Krakowski rocked an amazing purple gown. Rose Byrne comes in a close second. Also pictured: Leona Lewis in lilac and Sandra Bullock wearing a boring dress in great royal purple.

Jewel Tones. On the heels of the purple trend, jewel tones made a splash last night. Cameron Diaz wore a ruby red dress, and she is worked it. Precious starlet, Gabourey Sidibe, wore a lovely emerald color. Lauren Graham is pretty in pink, but I think the shape is a little off on her. Also in emerald, Sigourney Weaver looks like a goddess in this one-shoulder column dress.

Shiny! Every red carpet has its glitter, but last night had some stellar sparkle. Toni Collette, Olivia Wilde, Anna Paquin and Glenn Close stood out in these shimmering, shining stunners.

'Do Down. Soft, flowing hair took favor over the traditional red carpet up do last night.
What were your favorite red carpet trends last night?
